Disturbing trailer for Blumhouse DASHCAM’s Found Footage-style horror film – GeekTyrant

The first trailer has been released for a new found footage style horror thriller from Blumhouse and Momentum Pictures titled dash cam. The film comes from the genre filmmaker wild robwhich broke out in 2020 with a Zoom horror movie titled Hostwhich he shot during the pandemic.

This first trailer builds the suspense, but it didn’t really bring me much. Maybe the movie will be good, maybe not, but this trailer didn’t make me want to spend my time watching it. The marketing makes the movie exciting, though!

The story follows two friends on a “horror-fueled road trip as they livestream the most terrifying night of their lives”. The film is “framed in a live stream” and it centers on an indie-rock musician who portrays a consciously obnoxious exaggeration of her own polarizing online persona. “Exasperated and depressed by her pandemic lifestyle in Los Angeles, she breaks quarantine for London, England, and the hospitality of a former band member. But when her fringe beliefs and selfish behavior incite scorn from her progressive friends, her response inadvertently sends her (and her online audience) on a perilous and profane horror chase through an increasingly ominous English countryside. ”

The film is also said to have “maniacal momentum, innovative camerawork and a shockingly cavalier nihilism reminiscent of the original evil Dead, Savage and his leader fearlessly constructed an uncomfortable emblem to trigger social media extremities in this anti-hero, and they put her (and the unfortunate souls in her orbit) through a dizzying spin of inventive gore, gallows humor and mischievous provocations. Audiences will smash that proverbial button or be enraged to tweet vitriol, but the erupting speech is guaranteed to leave a mark.

The cast also includes Annie Hardy as “Herself”, Amar Chadha Patel like stretching, Angela Enahoro like Angela, and Seylan Baxter like Seylan.

dash cam will be released in select theaters and on VOD starting June 3, 2022.
