Netflix’s New Horror Movie Is So Scary Viewers Are Afraid To Fall Asleep

Netflix subscribers know Elizabeth Lail from her role in the psychological thriller The Psychological Killer. It’s called Countdown, and it’s one of the most-watched horror movies on Netflix. In fact, it’s one of the most-watched movies on the service, period, yet.

Here is the synopsis from Netflix. A nurse downloads an app that predicts the user’s exact time of death. What happens next? “she discovers that she has three days to beat the clock and change her destiny.”

The film, unfortunately, did not receive particularly good reviews. However, CountdownJustin Dec directed and wrote the film. It won a consolation prize of $48 million worldwide, despite having a budget of $7 million.

The film received a decent 72% rating from Rotten Tomatoes. This is based on over 1,000 verified reviews. Unfortunately, the film currently holds an overall score of 26%. This score is based on reviews from 70 critics.

An interesting twist about this movie: Ryan Boyling, a developer, built a sidekick Countdown application. It is available on both iOS and Android. If you’re a morbidly curious soul and want to have some fun, this is a random death generator and it hit number 1 on the app store at some point.
