‘True Blood’ star to headline new horror flick ‘From Black’
Apparently, Anna Camp can’t get gender out of her “blood”.
Camp – perhaps best known to horror fans as the villainous Sarah Newlin in the HBO vampire series True Blood– signed on to star in the supernatural thriller From Blackaccording to a report on Deadline.
The film, which began shooting in Mississippi, also stars Jennifer Lafleur (Fat Little lies), John Ales (Euphoria), Travis Hammer (Impious) and Richie Montgomery (ozark).
From Black–crossed out by Thomas Marchese (Fallen), who wrote the screenplay with Jessup Flower – follows a young mother – “crushed with guilt and shame after her son disappeared five years ago – who is presented with a bizarre opportunity to learn the truth and put the things in order,” according to the login line.
The mother is asked ‘if she’s willing to pay the terrifying price for a chance to hold her boy again’.
Marchese also produced the film, alongside Kelly Frazier and Vincent Cardinale. Camp is one of the executive producers, along with Cesar Mercado, Humberto Carillo, James Norrie, Bob Portal and Inderpal Singh.
Marchese said the idea behind the film was “to take dark police procedural and turn it into a terrifying supernatural horror story. I think we hit the tone and hit that target.”
